    Christine Leighland

After leading teams and companies for more than 20 years across 3 provinces and 5 countries, I have realized how common mental health issues are and how advice, self-help books, and prescriptions often result in short-term relief. At the age of 50, I returned to school to learn about the causes of the most prevalent mental health issues and how to apply evidence-based approaches to treat them. My formal education includes a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University, and both a Master of Adult Education and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. As I evolve to become a fully-licensed Registered Psychotherapist, I am working under the supervision of Dr. Ian Shulman and Dr. Lisa Dulgar-Tulloch.

I am comfortable utilizing several therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, EFT, and Motivational Interviewing.

My focus is on clients from 17-70 years who request support in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, LGBTQ+, transitions, grief, relationships, and corporate work.
